Does this sound like you?
There's a Big Problem
in our Military and First Responder Community
Actually, three big problems:
#1
"Suck it up and Drive On" Mentality. Military and First Responder culture has taught us to ignore physical pain and stress. This mentality can be a temporary necessity for critical missions, but it cannot be a lifestyle.
#2
The lifestyle associated with our careers has left us physically and mentally depleted, in physical and emotional pain and feeling like there's no way out of this cycle. We accept that this is the reality life has presented with no options for change.
#3
We are encouraged to "Get help" but we aren't told what that means, and how it will affect our careers. The prevailing prejudice surrounding mental health instills within us a sense of self-blame, as if we ourselves are the root cause of the issue.
So what do we end up doing?
We become impersonal and reserved to avoid hurting other people with our own problems. We were never allowed to share, we’ve been trained to ignore our emotions… and this is not a sustainable life.
These problems can be fixed,
we just aren't taught how.
Our careers have become lifestyles that are inherently linked to burnout and chronic stress. But it doesn't have to be this way.
We were never taught the science behind how physical and mental stress manifests in the body and mind.
You can accomplish the mission and have a successful career without feeling the need to "suck it up and drive on." This will happen through discovering your personal resilience method.
- You deserve to recover from physical and mental stress.
- You can learn how to stop the stress reaction cycle and damaging coping habits and create positive new ones.
YOU ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.
In a judgment-free environment, we'll unpack what our careers have done to the body and develop a better understanding of the mind, body, awareness, practice, and develop your own positive habits to continue positive momentum throughout the rest of your life.
You can WIN THE WAR on stress,
you only need to follow the right method.
while having the time of your life in a transformational adventure.
Welcome to Your Immersive Adventure
My Immersive Adventure (IA) method is very simple. IA is specifically designed for Military Veterans and First Responders and is centered around finding solutions that are specific to our community. There are three main phases to the IA way of winning the war on stress and energizing your life while immersed in an amazing outdoor adventure.
Get to Know the Real You
This phase is all about getting real with yourself. You’ll dig into how your mind and body actually work, especially when they’re under pressure. By the end, you’ll have a clear picture of what’s driving your stress and where you need to make changes.
Take Control of Your Life
Here’s where the rubber meets the road. You’ll take what you’ve learned and start making real changes. It’s about swapping knee-jerk reactions for deliberate decisions. You’ll learn practical strategies to handle whatever life throws at you—cool, calm, and in control.
Keep Expanding Your Horizons
This phase emphasizes steady, confident growth. You’ll build on the successes you’ve achieved, making sure that your progress is lasting and that you continue to expand your capabilities with assurance.
My method is based on 4 simple key values
Self-Awareness: Understand Your Inner Strength
→ Know who you are beneath the uniform. Self-awareness helps you recognize your strengths and challenges, so you can face them head-on. This isn’t about being perfect; it’s about knowing where you stand and where you want to go.
Proactivity: Take Control of Your Healing
→ You’ve faced tough situations before—now, take the lead in your own recovery. Proactivity is about taking those first steps toward healing, seeking out what you need, and refusing to let circumstances dictate your future.
Accountability: Stand by Your Commitment
→ You know the value of loyalty and discipline. Accountability means holding yourself to the path you’ve chosen, keeping your word to yourself, and steadily working toward your goals, one step at a time.
Resilience: Turn Adversity into Strength
→ You’ve overcome battles before, and this is no different. Resilience is about using every setback as a stepping stone, finding the strength to rise again, and becoming even stronger in the process.
My Journey:
From Overdrive to Resilience
Hi, I’m Sarah Moore,
Let me take you back to a time when my life was running on full throttle, yet everything seemed to be falling apart. I enlisted in the Army in 2002 as a truck driver, slowly working my way up through college to become a Blackhawk pilot.
I’ve endured multiple deployments, served as a platoon leader, and eventually commanded an Air Assault Company. I was also a Federal Air Marshal, engaged in world-wide counterterrorism operations and training others in firearms, tactics, physical fitness and emergency medical response.
On paper, I was thriving. But underneath, my world was crumbling.
The turning point came during a seemingly routine training exercise—a simulated helicopter crash, known as dunker training, where you’re submerged in water and forced to escape.
For a pilot, it’s just another drill. But for me, that day, my nervous system hit its breaking point. I had a full-blown panic attack right there, underwater, in front of my peers. I was a Soldier, a leader, someone who was supposed to have it all together. But my body and mind had other plans.
Looking back, the signs were all there. My back pain from deployment had left me numb, literally, with shooting pains and spasms that no amount of prescription painkillers could fix. I was juggling the intense demands of an aviation captain’s career course just months after returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom, without giving myself time to transition back to civilian life. And to top it off, I was stuck in a toxic, abusive marriage, isolated and unable to share my struggles.
That panic attack wasn’t just an embarrassing moment; it was my body’s way of screaming for help.
I realized then that "suck it up and drive on", a motto we live by in the military, was slowly killing me. I was compartmentalizing my pain, taking on everyone else's problems, and pushing my own to the back burner. I was running on fumes, over-caffeinated, overworked, and completely disconnected from any semblance of a balanced life.
It wasn’t until my nervous system forced me to stop that I understood the importance of rest, recovery, and self-care. Ignoring the problem wasn’t just dangerous—it was a direct path to burnout, depression, and worse.
My 2009 was like the world’s 2020—a year where everything that could go wrong, did. But it also marked the beginning of a journey.
A journey to understand the very stress and trauma that had nearly consumed me, and to learn how to heal, how to rebuild, and how to help others do the same.
The healing power of the mountain
In 2018, I found myself standing amidst the awe-inspiring vastness of the Himalayan alpine fields, over 15,500 feet above sea level, facing the majestic presence of Mount Everest.
This moment was the culmination of years of relentless self-improvement, a dream I had nurtured for so long.
As I stood there, breathing in the crisp mountain air, an overwhelming sense of exhilaration and accomplishment washed over me. But this was more than just fulfilling a personal goal—it was a profound turning point in my life.
As a military veteran and first responder I’ve faced challenges that left deep scars,
and I know you have, too.
That day on the mountain, I realized I needed to share this experience with others who’ve walked a similar path.
Nature has a way of healing us in ways nothing else can. The mountains, valleys, and untouched landscapes offer more than just stunning views—they provide a powerful opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and find real peace.
That’s why I’ve made it my mission to bring other Veterans and First Responders on these adventures.
Together, we can rediscover our strength, rebuild our sense of purpose, and create bonds that last a lifetime.

THE CULMINATION OF A DREAM
“Sarah brought together our group from all over the country, the common thread being our military or first responder service. We meshed immediately; we knew we were going to have a great time.”
- REI JOE, US ARMY
EVERYONE NEEDS TO EXPERIENCE THIS TREK
“This was one the most amazing cultural experience I've ever had. Sarah, Keshav and Giri made the trip easy and gave me the confidence that they had everything under control at all times. No-one could have done it as well as our Trek Leaders and Guide!"
- SLICK RICK - US NAVY / LAW ENFORCEMENT
I WILL NOT FORGET MY FIRST VIEW OF EVEREST…
"Our group of trekkers enjoyed every minute, every step. We laughed together, we experienced the culture and the people. We went to great heights."
- ARMY NATIONAL GUARD OFFICER
WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!
"What an experience!!! Ever since I was a child, I have wanted to see Mt. Everest, but as I got older my dream seemed to become more and more elusive. When the opportunity to go on this trek arose, I jumped at the chance, and as the reality sank in, became concerned about my physical abilities. Sarah was the perfect steward for my dream, assisting with my training plan, confirming all administrative aspects (medical, insurance, tickets, etc.) and discussing my equipment needs and choices. She was patient and understanding, and even took a weekend to lead me on two training hikes prior to our trek, which became essential."
- RETIRED VETERAN, US ARMY RESERVE
I CANNOT STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
"The guides and Sarah coordinated regularly to make sure we all made the trek comfortably, regardless of our ability. Every need was addressed. I cannot stop talking about this experience with friends and family. This was a once in a lifetime trip... though if Sarah invites me again, I hope to try to make it into a twice or thrice in a lifetime trip!!!! Thank you, Sarah!!!"
